Austin Beary Stylish Auction: Meet Betsy!

When an opportunity arises to do good, the Ladies of Luxe rise the occasion! We were invited by Ace Tailors of Austin to participate in their event on June 11 to benefit the Austin Children's Shelter, and boy, did we get excited! The Beary Stylish Auction is in its second year. This creative event challenges local Austin stores to design and outfit a bear to be auctioned off. Being the fashionistas that we are, we just knew we had to design the most modern and luxurious bear to hit the streets this side of I-35! Here is our bear's backstory:

Meet Betsy the Bear! This blonde bombshell knows a thing or two when it comes to fashion. She takes modern luxury to he
art, and outfits herself at her favorite local boutique, Luxe Apothetique! Sporting the latest trend in distressed boyfriend jeans and a loose, Bohemian top, Betsy feels confident that she will steal a spot on Austin's best-dressed list this season! She just visited Michi in our salon for a full-on color and cut makeover (Betsy always secretly knew that blondes have more fun!). She is just giddy that Luxe also sells Kerastase, her go-to haircare brand, that is sure to keep her hair looking salon-styled right from her very own bear cave! On her way out, Betsy grabs some lashes and lip gloss from Wendy K. in makeup, and leaves feeling like the million-dollar bear that she truly is!

If you are interested in more information on the Beary Stylish Auction, add Austin Children's Shelter as a friend on Facebook, or visit their website and event page. More information about this event can be found at the Beary Stylish Auction Facebook event site. This is an important cause, so I hope you all will take time out from your busy schedule to consider what you can do to impact those less fortunate in your own local community. More information on the event will be posted as received!

Have a Beary Beautiful Day!

Desperately seeking new and fresh hair color?

Hey guys!  I just wanted to let everyone know how exciting and fun my first month at The Salon and Spa at luxe apothetique has been!  It's been so amazing to work with and learn about Kerastase, Bumble and Bumble, Shu Uemura, and Phyto.  They are some of the best product lines in the world, and I am fortunate to work with them.  Also, I work with some of the most amazing people in the industry and look forward to expanding my business at luxe apothetique.

I recently moved here from Avant salon and spa in the Gateway shopping center, where I was a color specialist for 7 years prior.  I trained with some of Aveda's world renowned color specialist's, including David Adams, Ana Karzis, and Jeffrey Scott, as well as being a mentor in the salon.  I approach color as a tool to enhance what you already have and to compliment your lifestyle.  I enjoy making each and every client feel and look amazing when they leave my chair.

I am currently offering a special on your first visit to the salon for 20% off any color service along with a referral incentive program.  And since summer is rapidly approaching, I am offering a complimentary Kerastase treatment until May 7 on all partial and full highlight services valued at $100 or more.  So call and book your appointment today.  Hope to see you soon!

Pick of the Day

Sometimes an at-home manicure is all I have time for (although when time is no issue I'll pamper myself and just book a manicure or pedicure right here at luxe's spa.)

My cuticles have always been a little dry and flaky when I've done my own nails. But cutting your cuticles to get that professional look is never the answer, girls. Not only will it hurt, but it will only look worse in a matter of days and can even cause infections!

So I thought I'd try the cuticle remover from the lippmann collection. It looks like a nail polish, but inside is a miniature dropper. Two drops of this stuff and a cuticle pusher later, my nails looked just as good as if I had paid to get them done!

Vogue magazine also fell in love with this product and wrote about it in their 2009 beauty guide...

(p.s. it costs a little less at luxe!)
